ROME - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karl L. Hause on August 17, 2024, after bravely facing a very short battle with cancer. Born on February 18, 1953, Karl was a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Karl was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Hause (nee Maglich), and his sister, Linda Hause. He is survived by his dear siblings, Connie Jones and Jerry Hause (Melody), as well as his nephews and nieces: Richard Nowak, Melissa Nowak, Stephanie Lamont (Howard), Jonathan B. Jones (Robb Yoder), and Dale Hause. He also leaves behind great-nephews and nieces; Brian Lamont, Kara Hause, Amy Lamont, and Leland Lamont. A fun-loving uncle with an irrepressible zest for life, Karl was a proud Army veteran who served his country with honor before being honorably discharged. He was deeply passionate about his Catholic faith. His many years of sobriety were a testament to his resilience, determination, and the importance of AA in his life. Karl’s commitment to his sobriety and the support he found in AA were central to his journey of personal growth and healing. Karl held a deep love of nature, finding solace and joy in its beauty. He especially cherished his two cats, Malcome and Reese, who were not just pets, but beloved companions that brought him immense comfort and joy. Karl’s profound connection to the natural world and his furry friends added richness and warmth to his life. In his professional life, Karl made a lasting impact on Kalcor Coatings as a talented paint shader, showcasing his creativity, attention to detail, and warm-hearted nature that endeared him to all who worked alongside him. One of Karl’s proudest achievements was earning his bachelor’s degree from Baldwin Wallace University in 2004. Despite the challenges and demands of life, Karl persevered working many years and long hours to complete his degree late in life. His determination and dedication, and unwavering commitment to his education served as a testament to his strength of character and the importance he placed on personal growth and achievement. Karl’s warm smile, infectious laughter, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. While he may be physically gone, his memory and the love he shared with those around him will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. The family of Karl extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nursing staff at St. Edward’s in Fairlawn and Akron General Cleveland Clinic. Your unwavering support, exceptional care, and dedication during Karl’s final hours will forever be remembered and cherished. Your kindness and professionalism provided comfort and solace during a difficult time. We are truly grateful for the exemplary care you provided for Karl and our family. Your kindness will never be forgotten. In honoring Karl's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11 AM, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek, Thompson, OH 44086. Military honors will be held, and a light reception will follow. All are welcome to attend to honor him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Karl’s name to Cleveland District Office of A.A., 1557 St. Clair Avenue, NE, Cleveland, Ohio 44114. Honoring his commitment to sobriety, these donations will serve as meaningful tributes to Karl’s memory, reflecting the causes that were dear to his heart.
