UNIONTOWN - Kathleen Maria Talalas, 78, entered the arms of our loving Lord and her husband, Walter Talalas, on Monday, September 19, 2022, after a battle with dementia.
Kathy was born May 29, 1944, in Akron, Ohio, to Charles and Dorothy (Kinsinger) Dowling. She grew up in Akron, but lived most of her adult life in Uniontown. She was a graduate of Garfield High School. As a teenager, she took loving care of her brothers, Patrick and Dennis while her mother worked. The caring followed into their daily life of raising her own children. She was employed by the City of Akron as a Metro Bus and Local School Bus Driver. Her love of hosting, cooking, baking, teaching, and praying will have an everlasting impact on those who were blessed to know her. Kathy never met a stranger! Upon meeting her, she made you feel like a friend. If you were in a store shopping and you had a problem, Kathy would say “can I pray for you”, and then would take your hand and pray right then and there!
Kathy is survived by her brother, Patrick (Sharon) Dowling; children; Rick (Tracey) Stevens, Chris (Wendie) Stevens, Michael (Jodi) Stevens, Tina Tarter, Marie Lopez, Elizabeth (Eric) Grimshaw, and Jeffrey Talalas. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Anne (Tim) Homan, Ricky Stevens, Charlie Stevens, Katelyn (Mike) Greenwell, Christopher Stevens, Rachael Stevens, Megan Stevens, Anna Stevens, Abigail Stevens, Corey (Alyssa) Tarter, Anthony Lopez, Cecilia Lopez, David (Katie) Manning, Erik Manning, Jaxson Grimshaw, Alexander Grimshaw. Great-grandchildren, Caleb Homan, Braeden Owens, Hannah Homan, Aiden Homan, and Isla Mae Greenwell and Raelynn Manning.
Her burial will take place on Thursday, September 22, at 2:30 PM, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, 3655 Wales Avenue, NW, Massillon, OH 44646. A celebration of life service will take place on Friday, September 23 at 2:00 PM, at Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 771 Dunbar Road, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278. There will be a time of remembrance with the family immediately following the service.
