Kenneth Lee Lockard, I, left earth unexpectedly November 30, 2022, in Birmingham, AL. Born in Elkton, MD, Kenneth lived 83 years and his spirit was young, stubborn, cheeky, hardworking, and compassionate. A Kent State University graduate with 35 years of military and police service, Kenneth fought and won for justice up the steps of the Supreme Court. He opened doors of fairness for police women, trained police, forced positive change, he was funny, loved the Cleveland Indians, and could "McGyver" anything needing a solution. Kenneth’s legacy of fighting for right and good is carried forward by his children, Lowery, Kenneth, II (Melanie) and Ramie (Kim). Their mother, Sibyl, preceded him to the gates of Heaven, and they are jitterbugging to the music. He fiercely loved and was proud of his grandchildren, Tristan (Savannah), Jonathan, and Natalie. He is survived by sisters, Betty, Shirley (Kenny), Joy, Doris, Bonnie (Henry), and brother, Donny (Wilma). Brothers, Jerry and Phillip are resting with their mother, Mae Vanders. He is survived by many family, friends and others that impacted his life including Susan Harris, her children, Josh (Bethany), Ryan (Winter), Brooke Seals, and children, Braden, Andrew, Kynlee, Addyson, Curtis, Gracie, and Olivia. Kenneth’s life of service will be celebrated with military honors on Monday, December 12, 2022. Calling hours begin at 1:00 PM with service following at 2:00 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. He will rest with Sibyl at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, with graveside military honors provided by the U.S. Army. Immediately following, friends and family are invited to a joyous celebration of Kenneth’s life at Acker-Moore Memorial Post, 3733 Fishcreek Road, Stow 44224. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Dane Foundation, P.O. Box 124, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44222, helping those with disabilities.
