Obituary of Larry Simpkins




STOW - Larry Simpkins, 70, passed away from a very aggressive cancer on October 22, 2021.

Larry spent over 50 years working for Lake Forest Country Club. He started as a caddy and transferred to the grounds crew, retiring in 2017.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary, and brothers, Robert and Edward, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marty; sons, Michael (Lea) and Scott (Jennifer); grandchildren, Delanie, Bobby and Blake; sister, Marilyn Oberlin; sister-in-law, Norma (Robert) Simpkins; numerous nephews and a niece. Larry also leaves behind many friends, especially Miller, his porch sitting friend.

A very special "thank you" to Crossroads Hospice for their loving care of Larry.

Pastor Jim Case will conduct service Thursday 11 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, where friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 10 AM until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Portage Animal Protective League, P.O. Box 927, Ravenna, OH 44266.
