STOW - Lawrence (Rick) R. Cooney, 65, of Stow, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Born on March 13, 1959, Rick spent his life near the water finding his calling as a marine mechanic. With his skilled hands and determined spirit, he spent decades keeping boats running smoothly, earning the trust and respect of customers and colleagues alike.

A devoted husband to Vicki and a proud father to Michael and Courtney, Rick was the heart of his home. He found joy in simple moments - lending a hand to anyone in need, enjoying a long ride on his Harley, and riding the waves below the sun-filled sky. His laughter was infectious and his love unconditional.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vicki; children, Michael (Monica) Cooney and Courtney (Zach) Lewis; grandchildren, Presley Jo and Oliver, as well as a host of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Preston Lewis.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a later date.

Though the tides have carried him beyond our reach, his love and legacy remain anchored in our hearts forever.
