Lawrence E. Smith

STOW - Lawrence E. Smith, 82, died May 4, 2021 due to complications of a massive stroke which occurred on Friday, April 23, 2021.

Born on October 6, 1938 in Akron to Wilfred and Helen (Halter) Smith, he was a lifetime area resident and had been employed as a store owner, accountant and tax preparer. He enjoyed riding and showing horses for many years, beginning at age 6.

He is survived by his sister, JoAnn (Gene) Buffo of FL; life partner of 40 years, David Antes of Stow; nephews, David (Leslie) Buffo of Westboro, MA, Richard Buffo of Brookfield, IL, Stephen (Pam) Buffo of Cleveland, and eight great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home. Private graveside services and burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on Tuesday. Donations may be made in his memory to Central Ohio Saddle Club Association (COSCA), c/o Robert Huff, 1200 Kennedy Road, Streetsboro, OH 44241.
