STOW - Leonard Peyton Dye, 79, died September 22, 2022. Born in Cabins, WV, Len resided in Stow, OH since 1953. A graduate of Stow High School and John Carroll University. Len loved and participated in many sports and lettered in wrestling. He spent six years in the U.S. Navy and was most proud of serving as a Sub-Sailor on the USS Thomas A. Edison Nuclear Submarine, where he received several awards for his achievements. Len spent most of his career in management and was employed by Mactac for 30 years and retired from Packaging Corporation of America in 2008. In his spare time, Len enjoyed quality time with his family, gardening, and being outdoors with his little feathered friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Arvella “Belle” Vanmeter-Dye-McDaniel; stepfather, James Dye; sons, Larson Dye and James Hobba. He is survived by wife, Lonnie Dye; son, Leonard Jared (Elizebeth) Dye; daughters, Jeannine (David, II) Dempster and Angel Dye-Gorman; grandchildren, James, David, III, Aidan, Ryan, Joseph, and Hugh; sister, Jamie Woods; stepsister, Joyce Hogue, as well as many nieces and nephews, and Cody (Stopera) Dye. In honor of Len, a private service has already taken place at “The Lighthouse Church,” and a memorial service was held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
