Leroy Younkin

Leroy Edward Younkin, 79 years of age passed unexpectedly in the arms of his beloved wife of 54 years on June 29, 2011.

He was a graduate of Springfield High School, enlisted in the Army and was active in the Korean War for two years. He leaves behind his wife Juanita, six children and their spouses who loved him dearly. Brett (Peggy) of Lexington, KY, Noreen (Don) Threlkeld of Denver, CO, Kevin (Barbara) of Berea, Karyn (Tom) Taggart of Tulsa, OK, Rick (Christina) of Akron, Gregg of New York City, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and brother William.

He retired from Ohio Edison after 38 years of service. He and his wife have been members of the First Christian Church of Stow for over 50 years.

Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday from 3 to 5 PM. Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will conduct a memorial service Monday 1 PM at the First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow, where a luncheon will follow the service.
