Lynn Foster Bittinger

STOW - Lynn Foster Bittinger, 79, passed away peacefully at home December 5, 2022.

Born in Kittanning, PA, he was a resident of Stow since 1983. Lynn had been employed with Alltel as a regional manager, retiring in 2001, and previously served in the U.S. National Guard for six years. Lynn especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and those in the neighborhood, whom he considered to be family. He also enjoyed tinkering with electronics of all kinds, photography, and biking. He biked over 660 miles this summer alone and had a goal of reaching 700 miles this year, which his children and grandchildren intend to complete together in his honor.

Lynn was preceded in death by parents, James E. and Mary L. Bittinger, and his brother, Thomas J. Bittinger. He is survived by his wife, Barbara E. Bittinger; a daughter, Annie (Louis DiMattia) Lerman; three sons, Troy (Tracy) Bittinger, Craig (Kerri) Bittinger, and Brian Julius (Talula Wiater) Kwolek; five grandchildren, Alexis, Reid, Travis, Tanner, and McKenzie; and one great-grandson, Levi. Lynn also had a foreign exchange student, Reina Tatsukawa, who was like another daughter to him.

Pastor Michael Swab will conduct service Friday, December 16, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Stow, 4880 Fishcreek Road, Stow Ohio 44224. Friends may gather at 6:30 PM with a service at 7:00 PM, with fellowship immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in Lynn’s name to the Ronald McDonald House Charities , (RMHC.org), in honor of his daily luncheon and friendships developed at McDonald’s of Steels Corners Road in Stow.
