Margaret Ellen Kelly Hardy (92 years old)

July 9th, 1930 – August 25th, 2022

Beloved wife of Ronald Hardy of Stow; children, Kathy Galo Gatian, Mike Galo (Cheri), Dan Galo (Judy); stepchildren, Ron Hardy (Christy), LuAnn Wirebaugh (Gene Kapity), Cherie Starcher, Rick Hardy (Sharon); 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and the aunt of many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Norma Kelly, and brothers, Jack Houghtlin and James Kelly.

Margaret was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from West High School in Cleveland. Margaret worked many jobs over the years, from a roller-skating car-hop waitress to church secretary, then retired from the Cuyahoga County Public Library Children’s Department.

After divorcing Robert Galo, Margaret lived alone for 10 years. She married Ronald Hardy in 1998, and lived a long happy life with Ron in Stow. She and Ron were members of the Bailey Road Christian Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, often spending time with their church family.

Margaret was always happy, enjoying the company of friends and family. She looked forward to family parties and singing. Laughing came easily to her. She and Ron traveled to Hilton Head Island for years until the drive became too long. She was proud of her Irish heritage, thrilled to have finally traveled to Ireland with Ron and friends for three weeks. Her smile and laugh will be missed.
