Marilyn V. Landis, age 74, passed away March 2, 2011 peacefully at her home. She spent her final days, as she did her life, enjoying family and friends.
Marilyn was born in Akron and was a longtime resident of Stow. She spent her entire life professionally and personally helping others including positions held at First Christian Church of Stow and the Stow Glen Retirement Village. Marilyn celebrated life every day, and especially enjoyed travelling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her sister Doris Wolfe, parents Martin and Dorothy Smith, the life she led here will continue to be honored by her husband of 51 years, Edward; daughters Lori (Michael) Bird of Hudson, Susan (Tony) Falcione of Stow; grandchildren Anthony and Christopher Falcione, Ethan and Caroline Bird; brothers Richard Smith of Texas and Ron (Ann) Smith of California, her church family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. In lieu of flowers, Marilyn requested memorials may be made to the church or donations can be made to Hospice of Summa, 444 N. Main Street, Akron, OH 44310.
