Martha Elizabeth Sagel

SILVER LAKE - Martha Elizabeth Sagel, 91, died April 21, 2025.

Born in Zanesville, she was a resident of Silver Lake since 2011. Upon high school graduation, Martha attended nursing school and received her BSN, RN from Mount St. Joseph College in Cincinnati. After graduation, she began working at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was promoted to Head Nurse of the orthopedic unit, retiring in 1973. Martha went on to work as a case manager with the Cincinnati Council of Aging. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Martha enjoyed quilting, birdwatching, hot air balloons, and animals. She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cincinnati Reds, and Pope Francis.

Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Mary Snider; husband, George Sagel; sister, Rose Mary Green, and nephew, Robert Green. She is survived by her nieces, Monica (Raymond) Howe, Nancy (Robert) Henry, and Jean (Ben) Green; nephews, John (Carolyn) and James (Rita) Green; niece-in-law, Sara VanArsdel, and multiple great-nieces, nephews, and one great-great niece.

Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM, Monday, May 12, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call 2 PM - 4 PM, Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Deacon John Green’s house.
