COPLEY - Melinda J. Rainey, 46, died April 26, 2024.
Born in Marysville, she had lived in Copley since 2010, was raised in East Liberty, Ohio, and attended Benjamin Logan Local Schools. Mindy most loved being a “soccer mom extraordinaire,” and spending time with her girls - playing games and Legos, traveling, and experiencing nature. She was also extremely passionate about wildlife conservation and inclusion of all people.
Preceded in death by her father, Gary Baker, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maureen and Paul Hoover, she is survived by her husband, Chris; daughters, Madeline and Cassandra Rainey; mother, Melony Baker; sisters, Gennifer (Rod) Ball and Amber (Ken) Rosebrook; father-in-law, Carl Rainey; mother-in-law, Michele (Mike) Dzialdowski; brother-in-law, Neil (Jennifer) Rainey, and many nieces and nephews.
Not only was Mindy a second mother to her nieces and nephews, but she was truly a “mother to all," extending her generosity and enthusiasm to her children's friends and teammates. For her community and family, she was a source of sunshine and laughter, as her memories will continue to be.
