Melvin (Mel) Lloyd Binger

STOW - Melvin L. Binger, age 78, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior after an extended illness on January 9, 2024.

Mel was born May 9, 1945, to the late Fred Binger and Regina (Jenders) Binger, in Milwaukee WI. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1963 and went on to the University of Wisconsin where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He was employed for over 30 years in rubber sales at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, until his retirement. Not one to slow down much, he continued at RCMA Americas, Inc., as Vice-President of Sales until his official retirement in 2017.

Mel met his true love, Christine (Snyder), also of Milwaukee, and they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage spending most of those years in Stow, Ohio, as well as in sunny Sarasota, Florida. Melvin was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Strongsville, Ohio, and the Ascension Lutheran Church in Sarasota.

He was an exceptional handyman and craftsman. If it were broken, he could fix it! He made friends wherever he went with his dry, witty humor. Other hobbies included being with friends and family, golf, traveling, the Green Bay Packers, and his beloved cats, Gator and Mango.

Mel was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Patricia Fitzgerald. He is survived by his loving wife, Chris; daughter, Trisha (Keith) Shipman; son, Trent Binger; grandchildren, Jenna (Jason) Hale, Jadyn Shipman, Brett Shipman, and Braeden Binger, and sister, Elaine Kornreich.

Visitation will be held 10 - 11 AM, with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Paul Learman, immediately following, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio 44224.
