STOW - Melvin “Mel” J. Dreslinski, 78, died October 15, 2023.
Born in Cleveland, OH, he was a Stow resident for 47 years, a captain in the U.S. Army, veteran of the Vietnam era, and a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mel was retired, having been employed with LTV Steel and Republic Steel. Mel was a man deeply rooted in his faith. Mel's marriage to Kathy was a defining part of his life. Together they built a loving home for their children and grandchildren. Mel was a true gentleman and will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, and devotion to his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, in 2019; his parents, John and Victoria Dreslinski; sister, LaVerne Pastor, and brother-in-law, John Baraniecki, Jr., he is survived by his daughter, Eleanor (Dave) Bosko; sons, John (Maria) and Kevin Dreslinski; grandchildren, Olivia, McKenzie, and Luka Bosko, and Alex Diaz; sisters, Dianne (Charlie), Svihlik and Debbie (Terry) Delbo; brother, Kenny (Jeanie) Dreslinski, and sister-in-law, Kyle Stiffler-Zwil.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, for visitation, Monday, from 5 to 7 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 11:00 AM, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. DePeyster Street, Kent 44240. Fr. David Bridling celebrant. Burial Silver Springs Cemetery.
