Mildred (Millie) A. Miles

TALLMADGE - Mildred A. Miles (Millie), of Tallmadge, passed away May 16, 2023, at the age of 88.

Millie was born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Henry and Louise Schmidt. She worked at Goodyear Aerospace prior to her marriage to James Miles on August 16, 1958. Jim and Millie moved to Tallmadge in 1969, where they raised three sons. She was a beautiful and kind woman, who loved music, especially barbershop, where she sang in and conducted barbershop choruses. Millie also loved her family, her friends, animals, a good thunderstorm, Euchre, and Cleveland sports. She especially loved Concordia Lutheran Church, of which she was a lifetime member.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; sister, Louise; brother, Bob; and her youngest son, Alan. She is survived by her sons, David (Steve Wyszynski) and Steven (Chris Higginbotham); granddaughter, Megan (Johnny) Woods; great-granddaughters, Aubree and Madison, and her close extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 12 PM, Monday, May 22, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 724 Sumner Street, Akron, OH 44311. Friends may call from 11 AM to service time on Monday at the church. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Millie’s memory to either Concordia Lutheran Church or One of a Kind Pet Rescue , 1929 West Market Street, Akron, OH 44313.
