Mona Marie O'Neil

STOW - Mona Marie O'Neil passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born on June 8, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Homer and Annabelle Mann Montgomery. A lifelong giver, Mona dedicated her time to volunteering at the Summit County Children's Home and was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her deep faith and love for music led her to the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, where she joyfully sang in the choir alongside her devoted husband, Ralph.

For over 15 years, Mona brought beauty and kindness to her role as the Estee Lauder Counter Manager. She had a passion for cooking and baking, always eager to try a new recipe - especially if it sounded delicious. Her warm and adventurous spirit in the kitchen was just one of the many ways she expressed her love for those around her.

Mona was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ralph, as well as her brothers Homer, Bill, and Jimmy, and her sister, Marjorie. She is survived by her two daughters; Darlene Giles (Jerrel Morgan) and Pamela Barefoot (Jeff), who carry on her legacy of strength and compassion. Her life was further enriched by her cherished grandchildren, Troy O'Neil (Carrie), Kelly Redovian, Ryan Barefoot, Brooks (Ashley), and Logan Blinman (Thane), along with step-grandchildren, Jeff Giles and Gea Giles. Mona also had the joy of welcoming eight great-grandchildren into her life and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her newest great-grandson this May.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Traditions Health Hospice for their exceptional and loving care during Mona's final days. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place, and Mona has been laid to rest beside her beloved Ralph at Stow Cemetery.

Chaplain William Ihde will conduct services at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1 PM, where the family will receive visitors from 12 noon until time of service.
