Nancy Carol Kray (Bratanov)

STOW - Those who have experienced the loss of a loved one through the persistent heartbreak of dementia, know that it robs them of moments, of memories, and then of the real essence of the loved one.

Nancy Carol Kray (Bratanov), 82, died on Wednesday morning, September 13, 2023, after progressive dementia-related complications. Our moments of remembrance, our memories, come from Nancy's husband, H. David Kray, her four grown children; Gregory Kray (Michelle), David Kray (Christine), Amy (Kray) Marsh (Robert), and Alyce (Kray) Olson (Josh), as well as nine grandchildren, and a host of relatives, friends, and neighbors, whose lives have been touched by hers.

Nancy took joy and pride in raising her children, being their biggest supporter at lemonade stands, sports events, graduations, weddings, and everything in between. She was a devoted wife and mother, always available to read a bedtime story, tickle an arm, make a homemade supper, (often with Hungarian roots), or play a family game of cards in the evening.

Nancy was a woman who loved the uncomplicated times with her family, and cherished the small things, like a homemade gift or a handmade card, or coffee with a friend in her own kitchen. She was imperfect, charmingly so, with a heart quick to forgive and an easy smile for many days.

In the past year, those smiles came most often when friends or family came to visit her bed, where her husband of almost 62 years, was always at her side. These smiles have faded, and the long goodbyes are over. We hope that the best of these memories with Nancy will live on long after her departure from us.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224, for visitation on Monday, September 18, 2023, from 5 to 7 PM, where Pastor Michael Kray will conduct service, Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 10 AM. Interment Crown Hill Burial Park.
