Nancy Karen East Kuehls

Nancy Karen East Kuehls, 71, of Rootstown Township, passed away at home surrounded by family on January 25, 2023.

Nancy was born in Akron and graduated from Garfield High School in the class of 1969, where she enjoyed being a letter girl and singing in the choir. She worked in the telecommunications industry and then lived in Florida for several years. She moved back to Ohio to build memories with her grandchildren and be close to family.

She enjoyed fishing, working in her garden where she would grow many vegetables to share, bird watching, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always decorated for each holiday making it feel special, festive, and fun for everyone. She loved to cook and bake, including unique homemade birthday cakes and Christmas cookies for all. She will be cherished forever for her caring, nurturing nature that made those around her feel loved.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ludmila and Herbert East. She is survived by her husband, Emil Kuehls; children, Michelle (Stephen) Knapp and Joseph (Katy) Licitri; stepsons, Russ and Michael Kuehls; sisters, Patricia (Larry) Scheer, Marsha (Todd) Fisher, Ludie (Mike) Polack; brother, Herb (Julie) East; grandchildren, Blaise and Anthony Licitri, Kye (Sabryna) Kuehls, and Ian and Tyler Kuehls; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A celebration of Nancy's life and the love her family has for her will be announced at a later date.
