HUDSON - Olufunmi Abiodun Falokun, 57, died November 4, 2024.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 12, 1966, Olufunmi Abiodun Oluwakemi Falokun (nee Ayoola) was the first daughter and second born to her parents, Grace Olufunmilayo Ayoola (nee Popoola), and Oluwole Ayinla Ayoola. She gave heart to Jesus in her undergraduate days and held on to Christ till her last breath. She met her husband in Deeper Life Bible Church, Lagos, Nigeria, and they were wedded on 12th August 1995, at the Deeper Life Bible Church, Oke-Afa Lagos (having done the registry wedding on 28th July 1995). Soon after the birth of their first child in 1997, they relocated to the United States, spending the rest of their life in Ohio.
Sister Kemi (aka Funmi) was a friendly person who loved to serve God and His people in the church. She supported her husband in starting many church ministries, including Deeper Life Bible Church locations and fellowships in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Oxford, Toledo, and Dayton (all in Ohio). She loved to sing and was a member of the church choir, but was treasured for her wonderful cooking abilities; always contributing in the kitchen at any conferences, conventions and events. She also contributed significantly in children's ministry and always loved cooking for the children’s church on Sundays.
Sister Kemi was blessed with a good education with a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology, Master's Degree in Medical Microbiology, and Certificates in Phlebotomy and Data Analytics. She was entrepreneurial and involved in multiple ventures in her lifetime including laptop exports, patient care, and online retail store. She used her educational background in training her children well and encouraging them to trust in Christ and to study and work hard in their careers. She was truly a keeper at home and a lover of her children and extended family. She witnessed to Christ everywhere she went.
Sister Kemi is preceded in death by her mother, Grace Ayoola. She is survived by her husband of more than 29 years, Pastor Ayodeji Falokun; and her children, Deborah, Daniel, Dawn, David, and Dorcas Falokun; her siblings, Olufemi, Oluwatosin, Oluwafunso, and Oluwasijibomi Ayoola, and Olubukonla Okusanya, and her aged father, Oluwole Ayinla Ayoola.
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
