Northampton United Methodist Church ~ Funeral Service of Mr. Ralph Everett Truax

CANTON - Ralph Everett Truax, 86, was received into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Born December 12, 1937, to Clarence and Ruth (Burgner) Truax, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Gene; infant sister, Lois, and son-in-law, Jim Timonere. Ralph is survived by his wife, June (Fisher), who was the love of his life, and to whom he was married for over 66 years; his sister, Dorothy Archer; children, Jenny (Robert) Digiantonio, Jane Timonere, and Jonathan (Debbie) Truax. His legacy also includes eight grandchildren; Stephen (Carly) Labay, Rachel (Nick) Soboslay, Gwen (Rob) Rebera, Aubrey (Matthew) Cicero, Mandy (Mark) Yekel, Daniel Truax, Bethany (Jimmy) Campbell, and Katie (Travis) Davis; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and many friends in the community. He is deeply loved and will be missed by many.

A lifelong resident of the Akron area, Ralph attended Margaret Park Elementary School and graduated from South High School (’55). He was a hard worker, self-employed as a master plumber for Truax Plumbing & Heating, and manager for Truax Properties. For twenty years, he also served as a part-time police officer for Northampton Township where he guarded such celebrities as Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and James Taylor, backstage at Blossom Music Center.

Ralph enjoyed square dancing and was a founding member of the Wahoos. He also held membership in Northampton United Methodist Church, Northampton Grange, and the PHCC. Vacations included fishing in Canada, trips to California, Niagara Falls, and St. Augustine, and family time at Lakeside. Ralph and June were very active in the community and would help anybody in need. He always had a twinkle in his eye and had an amazing sense of humor. Ralph loved the simple things of life: spending time with his family, eating good food, and watching TV in his recliner.

Rev. Becky Evanoff will conduct service Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 12 noon, at Northampton United Methodist Church, 852 West Bath Road, Cuyahoga Falls 44223, where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Private interment will be held at a later date at Northampton Cemetery.
