Randal Mark Diantonio

d. May 10, 2010

Randal Mark DiAntonio, 53, of Stow, passed away May 10, 2010 after a courageous 13-month battle with cancer, at the Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio.

Born on August 29, 1956, Randy grew up in Warren, Ohio, graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1974. After graduating from Youngstown State University in 1978, Randy began his 31 year career with FirstEnergy in Akron. He later obtained a Master of Science Degree in Finance from The University of Akron in 1989. His interests outside of work included being actively involved in the FirstEnergy Family Credit Union for many years, and when his children were young, he served as treasurer of the Stow Soccer Club and the Greater Akron Amateur Soccer Association.

As his children grew, he enjoyed watching them play soccer and basketball and run track. Two of his proudest moments were watching his son's high school soccer team win a state championship and his daughter's acceptance into medical school. His hobbies included golf, bowling, and fantasy football each fall with his co-workers.

Randy was a wonderful son, husband, father, and friend who will be greatly missed by those he has left behind. He was a conscientious and knowledgeable employee and could be described as a family man and animal lover. We will never forget his kind smile, approachable demeanor, upbeat attitude, and sense of humor. In addition, Randy was known for his perfect head of hair of which many of his male friends were envious!

He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph DiAntonio, and leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 31 years Marsha; children Gina (Jeff) and John; mother, Viola, of Warren, and many loving neighbors, friends, and co-workers.

Calling hours for Randy will beWednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, where services will be held Thursday 1 PM. Burial Silver Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made in Randy's memory to the Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice Development Fund, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333-3118.
