STOW - Richard D. White, 94, passed away April 9, 2025. He was born April 25, 1930, in Akron, Ohio.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Dianna, and son-in-law, Michael, who fulfilled every request and promise made to him throughout their lives and during his care. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Diane “Michele” Carbone, Kelli (Rick) Hohenadel, and Michael “Gabriel” (Kristina) Carbone; seven great grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In 1948, he joined the Air Force, served overseas and participated in the Berlin Airlift. It was there in Germany, where he met his wife, Elisabeth. He was especially fond of her family in Freising, Germany, and would visit them often.
Richard lived a full life! He was a private pilot, a Mason and worked as an engineer for Firestone and Chrysler. He found great pleasure traveling the world. He enjoyed taking his daughter and son-in-law on adventures throughout Russia, Germany, Israel, and several other countries. Each year for decades, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren would join him at the Outer Banks of North Carolina for family vacations - packing a lifetime of memories. He adored all of his dachshunds.
Per Richard’s wishes, there will not be any type of formal burial or service. He and Elisabeth’s ashes will be set free on the beach in Corolla, North Carolina, by their grandson, Gabriel.
