STOW - Robert (Bob) R. Kauffman, 90, died peacefully on October 27, 2023.
Bob was born in Belleville, Pennsylvania, as one of five children. He was raised and spent most of his life in Ravenna, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne. He met his wife, Mary Ann, in Ravenna, and they were married for 63 years until her death in 2021. Bob spent most of his life working in retail management at various home good stores. He spent time tinkering in his shop and knew how to fix most anything. He enjoyed golfing and putting puzzles together, and of course, playing cards with his family. He also loved his recliner, watching movies of any kind, sports, and eating lots of junk food, including Lay’s potato chips, Lawson’s chip dip, and almost any kind of candy. He also really enjoyed his Outback steak and coconut shrimp.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; his siblings, Ernest, Warren, Vernon, and Jeanie, and his grandson, Jeffrey Robert; he is survived by his children, Kim (Bob) Balint, Doug (Stephanie) Kauffman, and Penny (Paul) Young; grandchildren, April, Jordan, Julia, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Koty, Hailey, Wyatt, Autumn, and Jack, and great-great-granddaughter, Delilah.
Bob will be missed; however, we take comfort in knowing that he is now able to breathe freely without the constraints of his oxygen tank. He is now reunited with his love, Mary Ann, and they are sitting down to his favorite dinner of beef roast, noodles, mashed potatoes, and lots of gravy, and just maybe a card game after dinner.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve and Regent of Stow for taking such good care of him in his final week.
There will be no public services.
