Robert L. Boyd

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Robert L. Boyd, 90, died November 25, 2023. Born in Castlewood, VA, he spent most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls, and proudly served his country in both the United States Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. Robert received his M.Ed. from the University of Akron and retired as a principal at Fairlawn Elementary School. He was an active member and past trustee of First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, where he taught Sunday school, was a member of the New Wine Class, and was active with Boy Scout Troop #152. Special thanks to the caring staff at Tallmadge Health and Rehab, the Hospice Care Center, and dear friends, Jim Nelson, and to Bill and Phyllis Dreyer, and Darrell and Eileen Dube, who have selflessly taken on the leadership of Franklin Club. Preceded in death by his wife, Patsy, in February of this year, and his parents, Robert L. and Cecil G. He is survived by his son, Jim (Bridget) Boyd; grandchildren, Krista (Mitch) West and Garrett Boyd; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jordan, and Andi West; brothers-in-law, Bob (Nancy), Dick, and Larry (Karen) Green, as well as nieces and nephews. Reverend Jonathan Priebe will conduct service 12 PM, Friday, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, where friends may call from 10 AM, until service time. Burial Chestnut Hill Memorial Park with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
