Robert Charles Bruce

Col. Robert C. Bruce, Sr., U.S. Army (Ret.)

STOW - Col. Robert C. Bruce, Sr., 82, died September 21, 2021.

Born in Cleveland, he was a Stow resident since 1971 and a member of the VFW, Military Officers Assoc. and the First Cleveland Cavalry Assoc. Col. Bruce was also a recipient of the Legion of Merit Award.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine and son Robert C., Jr., he is survived by his wife Dee Dee; children, Diane (David) Hasslinger, Patricia (Lacy) Strickland, and Michael (Sara) Bruce; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Kathleen Lovesee and Arleen Scott, and brother James Bruce.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday, October 20th from 4 to 8 PM. Private interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, with honors provided by the U.S. Army. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the USO (uso.org) or the Humane Society of Summit County (summithumane.org).
