Robert L. Burris

PENINSULA - Robert L. Burris, 87, died July 23, 2024.

Born in Cleveland, he was a resident of Peninsula since 1997. Bob had been employed with Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School as a science teacher for 35 years. He also worked for many years as a contractor and landscaper. Bob loved nature and was an avid hiker. He hiked the Appalachian Trail several times. Above all, Bob loved his family and all his furry companions.

Preceded in death by his parents, Hilda and Virgil Burris; sister, Jeanette Treleaven, and brother, John Burris, he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Shirley Burris; children, Anne, David (Mary Mittiga), Pete (Leslie Nichol), and Sean (Trisha) Burris; grandchildren, Sarah Burris, Molly Stutts, David Russell, Audrey Burris, and Tyler Burris; great grandchild, Rory Stutts; sister, Nancy Roberts, and his cherished sister-in-law, Pat Grange.
