CUYAHOGA FALLS - Robert E. Bingham, 89, died May 2, 2011.
Born in Newark, NJ, he was a longtime area resident. Bob was a member of the US Navy during World War II and retired from General Tire and Rubber in 1985 after 32 years of service as a chemical engineer.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Julia, he is survived by his five children, Julie Ann Bingham, Allen (Diana Rigg) Bingham , Kathryn (Dennis) Beahn, Joyce (Dr. Miles, deceased) Oden, and Edward (Heather Dunn) Bingham; grandchildren Laura, Robert, Julie, Vanessa, Samuel, Emilie and Alex; and great-grandchildren Connor, Kyle and Jack.
Bob enjoyed golf, bridge, bowling and chess. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bob had a great sense of humor and a warm and generous heart. He was a gentleman who lived a full and rewarding life.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 1 PM at Redmon Funeral Home. Burial at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
