Obituary of Ronald Hager

Willous Ronald (Ron) Hager

STOW - Ron Hager, 86, entered Heaven's gates on January 7, 2022.

Ronald was born in Pitt Gas, Pennsylvania, on November 19, 1935, to Willis and Louise Hager where he grew up running around in a little coal mining town with his cousins who were like brothers to him, and with whom he experienced many childhood adventures. He never forgot those memories and treasured them for the rest of his life. This is also where Ron met Barbara Ellen Hepler, his soulmate, and the absolute love of his life. They were to become an inseparable team who would help anyone in need and offer love and support to all they loved, and if you were one they loved, you considered yourself completely blessed.

Ron and Barb married and moved to Stow, Ohio, where Ron went to work for Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills. Here he enjoyed a dedicated and awarded 40-year career and was highly regarded by all. Ron was an avid and skilled hunter who taught the younger generation his skill and respect of nature. Ron also studied American history and had a deep love of country as well as had an impeccable memory. His recall of historical and political events was uncanny. He was a man of knowledge but was also a humble servant. Ron was a true patriot.

Ronald was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 61 years, Barbara E. Hager (Hepler) and was never the same. His heart was broken at the loss of his wife; he carried on for nearly two years in the loving arms of family who treasured, protected, and honored their family hero just as he always did for them. Pappy was a beloved man.

Also preceding Ron in death were his beloved parents, Willis Henry Hager, Louise (Mozzocco), and dear sister, Jaquelyn Palmer (Hager).

Ron's family life was always his love and priority and forever will be his legacy. He considered Barb's family as his own and he enjoyed rich relationships with them all. Those already passed are Eleanor (Richard), Betty (Kenneth), Sonny (Beverly), Jim (Shirley), Edna Lee (Bill), Emma Jean (Harold), Polly (Tom), and Rick. Those who remain are John (Diane), Ken (Karen), Dennis (Ina), Nancy (Bill), Robin (Bob), and Rick's wife, Margie.

He leaves behind his beloved children: sons, Ronald Willis Hager (Bill), Troy Anthony Hager (Laura), and daughter, Dawn Ellen (Hager) and (Ken) Ball; eight grandchildren, Bryant (Justine), Erin, Kathryn, Colton, Grant Willis, Abigail (Patrick), Michael, and Matthew; six great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Madelyn, Olivya, Troy Willis, Akira, and Charlotte Ellen, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

To say that Ron and Barb are missed is an absolute understatement. Life will never be the same without our Matriarch and Patriarch. Thankfully, because they knew and loved the Lord as savior, this is but only a temporary separation for we will truly see them again!

Pastor Jim Brown conducted service on January 11, 2022, at Redmon Funeral Home, Stow, Ohio, for family. Private burial to be held at Silver Springs Cemetery, Stow.
