Ronald (Ron) Arthur Pitcher

December 1, 1935 — April 20, 2023

GIRARD - Ronald “Ron” Arthur Pitcher, age 87, passed away on Thursday April 20, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Arthur Pitcher and Muriel (Robson) Pitcher. Ron married his loving wife, Bessie (Seibert), on May 26, 1956.

Ron with his wife, Bessie, and three children, Joanne, Raymond, and Harold, moved to Stow Ohio in 1967, where he worked as an accountant at Terex for over 25 years. In 1972, they built their home in Lake Milton where they resided for 48 years. Many memories were made in that home with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ron spent much of his retired time with the Tadmor Shrine of Akron where he took part in transporting children to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. He also enjoyed partaking in their monthly fish fries as the fry cook.

Ron had a love for the outdoors. He took pride and joy in his garden that was always full of flowers. Ron was always found outside working, whether it be in the garden, the lawn, or filling his bird feeders. He had a soft spot in his heart for all animals, he loved his goose, (even though the goose did not love Bessie), and the many dogs that they welcomed into their home. Ron also enjoyed music and dancing - he was always whistling a tune at any given time. Ron was a big baseball fan. He had a special love for the game. On opening day, he was always found watching his team, the Cleveland Indians.

Ron was proceeded in death by his parents, Arthur and Muriel Pitcher; brother, Elmer Pitcher; sisters, Dorothy Sommer and Shirley Patterson, and grandson, Daniel.

Ron is survived by his wife, Bessie; children, Joanne (Alfred) Hooker, Raymond (Edith) Pitcher, and Harold (Lisa) Pitcher; grandchildren, Stephanie (Shaun) Sparks, Matthew (Alice) Kotch, Michelle (Brent) Harris, Katelyn (Ethan) Cetina, Eric Pitcher, Ryan Pitcher, and Jarod Pitcher; great-grandchildren, Sterling Sparks, Spencer Sparks, Isla Harris, and Mila Kotch; brother, Mark (Linda) Pitcher, and sister, Glenda (Tom) Chickonoski.
