Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ruth Rita Brunner

PENINSULA - Ruth Rita Brunner, 97, died October 11, 2023.

Born in Kilsyth, WV, she has been a resident of Peninsula since 2019. Ruth had been employed with Akron City Hospital in medical records, retiring at the age of 70. She was a member of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Ruth enjoyed walking on the beach and collecting seashells, especially sand dollars, and looking for four-leaf clovers. She was an avid knitter and made baby blankets for each of her grandchildren. Ruth was a very giving person who would bake pies for family and friends, make Buckeye candy at Christmas to share with others, and made rosaries to send to soldiers overseas.

Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Art, she is survived by her daughter, Pam (Gary) Jones; son, Tom (Wendy) Brunner; grandchildren, Benjamin (Jennifer) Cicora, Katie (Joe) Dagostini, Brandyn (Patrick) Seevers, Michaelyn (Matt) Mieczenkowski, Ashley (Justin) Rokitka, Jason (Julie) Jones, Christopher Jones, John Kopowski, Zoe (Franklin) Sauer, Skye Steadman, and Jason Steadman; great-grandchildren, Nico, Gianna, and Andrew Cicora, Oliver and Edison Dagostino, Kory and Kamryn Seevers, Tristen and Maddie Mieczenkowski, and Zaylin Sauer; brother, Joe (Judy) Orsine, and sisters-in-law, Ann Brunner and Pat Brunner; brother-in-law, Leo Moledor, as well as a host of nephews and nieces.

Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 AM, Monday, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Ruth’s name to either Falls Cancer Club , 3345 State Road, P.O. Box 3244, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223, or to a charity of their choice.

The family would like to thank Alla Boichuk and Patty Brannen of Visiting Angels - Medina, and the staff of The Hospice of the Western Reserve for their loving and compassionate care of their mother.
