HUDSON - Sheila Monica (Tivy) Corbut, 66, of Hudson, Ohio, passed away on July 23, 2024, from causes related to dementia.
She was preceded in death by her mother, (Mary “Rona” Tivy), father, (Vincent V. Tivy), and two brothers, (Geoffrey E. and Basil “Larry” Tivy). She is survived by her brother, Stephen V. Tivy (Robin), husband, Ronald V. Corbut, and daughter, Katherine M. (Corbut) Scott (Brandon L. Scott), and soon to be four grandchildren: JJ, Oliver, Kade, and first granddaughter, Cora, due in October.
Sheila was born on February 3, 1958, in Foxboro, MA. She attended various schools around the country as her family traveled, but ultimately settled in Ohio, attending and graduating from Kenston High School. Shortly after graduation, she met Ron, and they married on October 7, 1978, and built a beautiful life together in Northeast Ohio.
After nearly a decade of attempts at becoming parents, Sheila and Ron began the adoption process in April of 1988. Soon thereafter, a baby girl born in October was placed forever in their loving care. Sheila dedicated her life to being a gracious, supportive and loving mother to Katie, carrying her through every passion and development until her untimely passing.
Sheila was a passionate seamstress, gardener, adored chef and host. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found rollerblading throughout the neighborhood or cheering from the side of the gym at every single gymnastics practice or meet for her daughter.
We will miss her love, kindness and spunk more than words can describe.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on August 30, 2024, at the Octagon Shelter in Virginia Kendall Park, 801 Truxell Road, Peninsula, OH, from 4 - 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her name to the
Alzheimer’s Association
of Cleveland Chapter, (P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194-4924), an organization close to the family’s heart, with the hopes that one day a cure to the devastating illness can be found.
