Shirley Ann Cline Kaczur

April 8, 1934 — September 13, 2023

AURORA - Shirley Ann Cline Kaczur, 89, of Aurora, Ohio, passed peacefully on September 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Born in Paris, Kentucky, on April 8, 1934, Shirley aka “Skip”, was the daughter of the late Harold H. Cline and Berthamae Merrill Cline, sister of the late Joseph A. Cline (Kaye), and mother of the late Robert T. Kaczur (Judy). She is survived by her daughters, Laura Lombardo (Gary), Amy Kaczur, and Lisa Weagraff (Robert). She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother of seven, great-grandmother of five, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

A graduate of Saint Lukes School of Nursing, (CWR) (Cleveland, Ohio), in 1956, Shirley was a caring and dedicated registered nurse, providing healthcare to countless patients over a 50-year career. She retired from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2005. A true caretaker throughout her life, she was often the first to help anyone in need, offering support and wisdom. The family is especially grateful to her caregivers who tirelessly provided care and comfort in her final months.

In her early years, Shirley enjoyed performing in high school musical and theater productions, was a cheerleader for football and basketball, and wrote for the school paper. She was a proud and loyal “Redbird,” the school mascot of Loudonville High School (Ohio), where she was a 1952 graduate.

In her later years, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, gardening, watching classic movies, and playing board games and puzzles. She loved classical and jazz music and inspired her children in taking up musical instruments, filling the family home with music.

Shirley took great pleasure in reading about American history, Christianity, world philosophy, watching television, and discussing politics and current events. She especially enjoyed exchanging life stories and was known for cultivating lively conversation. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed yearly trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, spent much time visiting local Ohio farms, the Mohican State Park, and camped multiple times across the United States with family.

Shirley will be missed by family, many friends, and all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the Spring of 2024, in her hometown of Loudonville, Ohio. More detailed information to come.
