STOW - Stephen (Tim/Chief) Miller, Jr., also lovingly known as "Crankshaft" by his daughters, 86, passed away on June 1, 2022, at The Arbors of Stow Memory Care Facility.
He was a 60-year resident of Stow.
Mr. Miller was a lover of all things sports! Golf at one time was his passion. Once he had grandchildren, you could find him sitting in the stands being their #1 fan. He was to the very end, a proud grandfather.
Mr. Miller worked on many local golf courses from a very young age. He began as a caddie at Firestone Country Club to becoming a skilled grounds keeper until his retirement.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Michaleen Jones and brother, Jack Cole. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Virginia (Slavens) Miller; daughters, Pamela (Jeff) Frye and Traci Miller (Eric Horner); grandchildren, Garrett (Ali), Gregory (Ashley), Graeme Frye, and Danielle (Joe) DeVirgilio, Justin (Carlie) Crooks, and Jacob Klock Horner; sisters, Marguerite Romito and Annalee Bradley; brother, Harold (Alice) Cole; seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He used to say "no damn posies!" As we often showed our love by instigating one another, our intention is to fill the funeral home with as many "posies" as we can.
Dad, "It's time now to go to the place that's the best."
Visitation will be held at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 1 PM, with a memorial service following at 2 PM.
