STOW - Steven L. Beale, 68, of Stow, Ohio, went to be with his heavenly Father on May 19, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
He was predeceased by his father, Leon P. Beale. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Chess; Uncle Richard Sherwood (Mary Sherwood); wife, Jennifer Beale; daughter, Rebecca Beale Monday (Rick Monday); and son, Matthew Beale (Amanda Beale); and their children: Elliana (4), Chase (2), and Carter (1).
Steve was born on January 18, 1955, in Norfolk, VA. He graduated from Indian River High School in Chesapeake, VA, in 1973. He earned an Associate's degree from Northern Virginia Community College. He went on to earn both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Parks and Recreation from Eastern Kentucky University.
During his time in northern Virginia, he worked as a seasonal park ranger for the National Parks Service. As a knowledgeable guide, Steve gave informative talks to tourists while they visited the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument. He also worked for the White House Warehouse, kickstarting a 37-year career in Natural Resources.
In 1985, Steve met Jennifer Cross through a newspaper Christian singles ad. Steve and Jennifer got married on March 15, 1986, and went on to have two children, Becky and Matt.
In 2014, Steve retired from his career as a park officer for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. During his retirement, he enjoyed many hobbies, including buying and selling at flea markets from Ohio to Florida; traveling with his devoted wife; and being politically active. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and visiting family and friends while traveling. He was a faithful member of Liberty Valley Church in Macedonia, Ohio. Steve was a great patriot who loved his country, his family, and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Services will be held at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road in Stow, 44224, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Republican Party.
