Suzann Hilton-Painter

STOW - Suzann Hilton-Painter, 75, died February 12, 2024.

Suzann Dean was born an “army brat” in Alhambra, CA. She moved with her family every three years before settling in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in 1964. She practiced synchronized swimming in both Lansing, Michigan and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Suzann graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1966. She then attended Bowling Green University and Kent State University. She was a resident of Stow since 1979.  She found peace at home with her daughter by her side.

Preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Janet Dean; sisters, Leah Ludwig, and Nita Dean. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jim Painter; daughter, Stacy (Eric) Montgomery; grandchildren, Ashley (Wade) Montgomery-Hively, Alex Montgomery, and Chloe (Joshua Vaughan) Dean, as well as great-granddaughter, Kate Hively.

She was a devoted, working mom who raised her daughter on her own until remarrying in 1983.

Suzann and her husband, Jim, started a property management company, where she served as vice-president. Suzann was a member of the Stow Chamber of Commerce as an active member of the community. She was a member of First Christian Church of Stow. Suzann enjoyed vacations to the beach, going to Acme Zip football game day and festivities, watching Akron Zip soccer and Cavs games, playing tennis, hosting company parties, enjoying nature on her patio, and cooking and eating good food with her family. She enjoyed helping friends, whether they needed someone to talk to or a ride to church.

Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will conduct service at 2 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call from 1 PM until time of service.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, in honor of her daughter, who is a colorectal cancer survivor, or to First Christian Church of Stow .
