LAKE MILTON - Ted William Miller, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in his home at Lake Milton, Ohio.
He was born in Millersburg, Holmes County, Ohio, to the late Willard S. Miller and Grace B. (Maxwell) Miller.
Ted was a teacher in the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District from 1970 to 2004. He received his B.A. in Education from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. He loved teaching 8th grade history for many years and often enjoyed coaching the middle school basketball team. He painted houses in the summer and always took his family on vacation twice a year, prioritizing recreational time together as a family.
In 2008, Ted and his wife, Eunice, moved to Lake Milton, Ohio, where he enjoyed fishing for walleye, boating, and keeping the flower beds around their condo well maintained. He attended the First Baptist Church of Newton Falls.
He enjoyed garage sales and always liked to spot a good deal, often bringing home items that varied in degrees of usefulness, but always had someone specific he cared about in mind. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife; his favorite destinations to recall were Alaska, Hawaii, and the Canadian Provinces on an Eastern Seaboard Cruise. He always made a yearly fishing trip to Quebec, Canada, with good friends and family and brought home excellent stories and fish to share.
Ted was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He always made his family a priority and looked for practical ways to serve and help those around him. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren out to lunch and on special shopping trips to the Dollar Store. He also loved attending and supporting their sports activities.
Ted is survived by his wife, Eunice I. (Schmucker) Miller; one son, Scott W. Miller, and his wife, Katie L. (Offhaus) Miller, of Stow, Ohio; one daughter, Jennifer I. (Miller) Snyder, and her husband, Joshua A. Snyder, of Ravenna, Ohio, and five grandchildren, Michaela Miller, Ryan Miller, Macey Miller, Kyle Miller, and Molly Miller.
