Terry D. Lawrence

SILVER LAKE - Terry D. Lawrence, (70), passed away peacefully at home Monday, May 8, 2023, after a long illness.

Born in Fulton, MO, he was a resident of Silver Lake, OH since 2016, formerly of Hudson, OH. Terry had been employed with Christian Healthcare Ministries as the Director of Member Services, retiring in 2021. He was a member of Christ Community Chapel in Hudson.

Terry attended Fulton High School in Fulton, MO, and graduated from Mt. Zion Bible School, Ava, MO, Class of 1971. He attended Kansas Christian College in Overland Park, KS, and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City. Terry enjoyed singing, and his deep bass voice enhanced many groups and choirs throughout his lifetime. For over 50 years, he sang bass with The Gospel Heritage Quartet.

He also enjoyed being with people, investing in the lives of his friends and family through intentional conversations, prayer, and time together. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and even in his final weeks at home, their visits always brightened his days.

Preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Betty M. Lawrence, nee Salmons, and his son, Ryan Lawrence, he is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Carolyn Lawrence, nee Scott; daughter, Lori (Andrew) Thomas of Hudson; son, James (Merideth) Lawrence of Hudson; his seven grandchildren, Libby, Will, Maggie, Owen, Grant, James, and Ben; mother-in-law, Joyce Scott; brothers-in-law, Dean (LaVerne) Scott of Clinton, MO; Delbert (Donna) Scott of Lowry City, MO, and sister-in-law, Edie Scott of Ozark, MO, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pastor Joe Coffey will conduct service Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Christ Community Chapel - Hudson Campus, 750 W. Streetsboro Street, Hudson, OH 44236. Friends may call Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
