TALLMADGE - Terry D. Mullins, 92, passed away on February 25, 2025.
Terry is survived by wife, Jo Ann (nee Miller); children, Cheryl, Jeffrey and Jill (Dr. Brian Hogan); grandson, Chance Coughlin, and siblings, Madelyn DeFazio and John Billow.
Terry was born in Lexington, Kentucky, to Marion McCollum Mullins (later Billow) and Everett Mullins. He moved to Akron, Ohio with his mother at a young age when she married John Billow. He graduated from North High School in 1950 and joined the U.S. Army in 1952. He served in Korea with F Company, 9th Infantry Unit, until 1954. He earned the Bronze Star, UN Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Citation and Combat Infantry Badge. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 40 years.
He met the love of his life shortly after returning from Korea, Jo Ann Miller. They were married for 65 years. Terry was a dedicated family man and couldn’t say enough about his three children, Cheryl, Jeff and Jill. He was incredibly proud of them and dearly loved his wife, Jo Ann.
Terry never met a stranger. He was a friend to everyone. A member of the Chapel, he sang in the church choir for over 60 years. He loved to sing and would often sing to anyone, anywhere and anytime! He loved his sports teams, mainly the Cleveland Indians/Guardians, and his beloved Buckeyes. Terry loved his family very much and couldn’t be more proud of them. Later in life, he enjoyed the small, simple things, trips to Amish country, getting ice cream, and his favorite, his much-loved hard candies.
