MUNROE FALLS - Virginia Marie (Grant) White, 87, died July 12, 2024.
Born in Rock Creek, she was a resident of Munroe Falls since 1965. Virginia was a graduate of Greentown High School, where she was a majorette, played clarinet, was a finalist in the Prince of Peace contest, and was the leading lady in the senior class play. She had been employed with the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority as a manager, retiring after 24 years.
Virginia was an avid Cleveland Guardians fan, being a season ticket holder for 25 years. She and her late husband, Charles, traveled to Winter Haven, FL, and Goodyear, AZ, for spring training every year.
Preceded in death by her husband, Charles O. White, Virginia is survived by her children, Valerie (Ron) Pulliam, Sharon White, and Carol Pringle; grandchildren, Matt (Rachel) Pulliam, Caitlin Pulliam, Kyle Pringle, and Kelly (Corey) Barcroft, and her brother, Harry (Ann) Grant. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Steve and Betty Jordan, and Marianne Carter; special friends, Gary and Cathy Reynolds, Shannon Hall, Pod and Gail Mast, Chuck and Cathy Ridgeway, and all of her “buddies” at the stadium. Virginia leaves her beloved city, Munroe Falls, and hopes they keep that “Sparkle."
Her daughters would like to thank Munroe Falls Fire Department Chief Lee Chafin and his department, along with the Munroe Falls Police Department, for taking care of their mother and checking in on her periodically after their father died.
No services will be held, and cremation has taken place.
