Walter William Duda

STOW - Walter William Duda, 84, passed away March 18, 2023, after a brief illness.

Born 1938, in Akron, Ohio, he was a resident of Stow, Ohio, since 2012. Walt had been employed with the McCormick Spice Company for 23 years. He and his wife, Carol, moved to Tucson in 1991, where they lived for 22 years to be closer to their sons and other family members. He started working in the antique business, which was his and Carol’s passion. Walt had many hobbies, including fishing, antiquing, and refinishing furniture. He loved his sports, especially Ohio and Arizona sport teams. Walt also treasured the time he spent with his family, both in Ohio and Arizona. He was very proud of all of them. Walt had many close, dear friends over the years, and most recently, the many friends at Silver Lake Towers in Stow, and special fishing buddy, Dick Alford.

Walt is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Walter and Margaret; brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Linda Duda; brothers-in-law, Rick Johnston and Donald Johnston, and nephew; Jerrod Jung.

Walt is survived by the love of his life, Carol, of 61 years, and his sons; Jon (Kim) Duda and Greg (Enza) Duda; grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew Kai, and Mia; sisters-in-law, Sally (Mark) Jung, Helen Johnston, and Julie Johnston; nephews and nieces, Keith (Melissa) Duda, Rich Jeter, Jenny (Ryne) Severson, Devaj Jung, Stacey (Dennis) Mathieu, Chris Patrick, John (Jill) Patrick, Rick (Amber) Johnston, Jr., and Barbara (Mike) Shubin, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family service held in Arizona to celebrate Walt’s life.
