Wanda Lee (Eads) Ciccantelli

July 16, 1938 — October 12, 2022

SILVER LAKE - Wanda Lee (Eads) Ciccantelli, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2022.

She was born July 16, 1938, in Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, and high school sweetheart, Pat Ciccantelli; her parents, Everett and Alice Eads, and brother, Carl Eads. She is survived by her brother, Ray Eads; her children, Pat (Lynn) Ciccantelli, Scott (Marie) Ciccantelli, and Tricia (Mike) Potts; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Austin) Pirtle, Dan (Danielle) Ciccantelli, Brian Ciccantelli, Derek Potts, Kari Potts, Kristin Potts, and Patrick Ciccantelli, as well as her great grandchildren, Tylar and Aila Pirtle and Emilia Ciccantelli.

Wanda graduated from Akron North High School in 1956, where she was an honor student and head majorette. It was there that she met her husband, Pat, and her many lifelong friends. She graduated from the University of Akron with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.

Wanda was an accomplished and well-respected educator who impacted the lives of countless students and colleagues. She loved teaching and the field of education. Being a lifelong learner, she was enthusiastic about teaching students to read and instilled in them a passion for learning. She herself was an avid reader and always had a stack of books, particularly nonfiction, to share with others. During her career, she served as a teacher, building administrator, and district curriculum consultant at Cuyahoga Falls, Lake, and Hudson City Schools. She spent the majority of her years with Hudson where she was bestowed the “Teacher of the Year” award. Wanda also taught courses in reading and math at the University of Akron. After retiring from education, she spent several years working as a real estate agent.

While Wanda was a successful educator, her greatest devotion was to her family. She treasured entertaining, hosting family gatherings, taking roads trips, and going on “car picnics.” She cherished the times with Pat and their children/grandchildren at their condominiums at Lake Erie and in Naples, FL. Wanda also enjoyed shopping trips with both family and friends.
