STOW - On August 4, 2023, William (Bill) S. Choler went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Born on October 17, 1960, in Elkhart, Indiana, Bill was a proud graduate of Elkhart Central High School, class of 1979. He went on to earn his degree in accounting from Western Michigan University in 1983, along with his CPA certification. In 1985, he married Pam, his wife of 38 years, after meeting her in their dorm at WMU.
Bill spent 40 years in the accounting profession; the majority of his career with Bruner Cox/Clifton-Larson-Allen. He finished his final tax season early when he retired on December 31, 2022.
Over the years, Bill has served his community through various organizations, including Stow Rotary Club, Stow-Munroe Falls Library Foundation, United Disability Services, St. Mary’s Urban Education Initiative, plus many more. He was an avid volunteer and active member at St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
Bill was a lifelong sports fan. He loved all Cleveland sports teams, Ohio State Buckeyes, Western Michigan Broncos, Indiana Hoosiers basketball, and of course, the Stow Bulldogs. Bill loved spending time with his immediate and extended family, along with his friends and neighborhood family. He especially loved his three children, and being a new grandpa to his three grandsons was the greatest joy of his life.
Bill loved boating, jet skiing, and hosting family and friends at his house on Lake Milton. He was looking forward to so many things in his retirement, and in the brief time since retiring, he had already traveled to Hilton Head Island, Outer Banks, NYC, and Dunedin, Florida.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Richard M. and Janet L. Choler. He is survived by his wife, Pam; children Kelly (Brian) Shoop of Corolla, NC, Lindsey (John) Malin of Stow, OH, and Chris (Lauren) Choler of Copley, OH; grandsons, Zane William Shoop, Cooper Henry Malin, and Wyatt Warren Choler; brothers, Rick (Linda) Choler and Gregg Choler of Elkhart, IN, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues that he considered family.
