STOW - William J. Haag, 91, passed away November 25, 2024.
Born in Akron, he had served on the USS Iowa during the Korean Conflict, and had retired from Mid Continent/Alltel after more than 40 years.
Bill enjoyed fishing, bowling, and golfing. In 2001, he took first place at Muskie Bay Resort with a 6 lb., 1 oz. walleye. Bill also bowled a 300 game and had three hole in ones. He will be missed by his friends at the Stowaway Pub, and by his best friend, Tom.
Preceded in death by his daughters, Connie Phillips and Darianne Haag; granddaughter, Tiffany Gizzi, and sisters, June, Betty, and Mary Ann, he is survived by his wife, Rita Welsh-Haag; son, Jeff (Stacy) Haag, and grandchildren, Justin and Amanda.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224 for visitation on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4 to 6 PM, when a time of prayer and sharing will begin at 6 PM.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11 AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow 44224.
I nurnment with military honors will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 10:45 AM, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, OH 44273.
