William Langford Libby

HUDSON - William Langford Libby died peacefully at Laurel Lake Crown Center on May 3, 2023, at the age of 90.

Bill was the loving husband of Marie and loving father and stepfather to Sue, Diane, and Steve Libby, and Melissa, Karl (Leslie) and Greg (Courtney) Pearson. He was the devoted grandfather of Danielle and Madison Libby, and his step-grandchildren: Geddy, Lola, Elliot, Clara, and Owen Pearson.

Bill will be remembered for his incredible energy and volunteerism with Cleveland Rotary (High School Recognition Day and scholarships), Family Promise, PFLAG Akron, Mobile Meals, and Chautauqua UCC Society. Bill was a staunch supporter of LGBTQ rights for over 30 years and an active member of First Congregational Church in Hudson. He served on boards and spent two terms as church treasurer. He continued to be an active supporter of his alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan. He found many opportunities to assist others with their financial needs in his career as an investment broker.

Bill's Christianity was focused on doing "for the least of these", and he exemplified this in his actions.

Bill's family would like to thank all loved ones and friends for their incredible outreach during the last months of his life.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Friday, June16, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora Street, Hudson 44236.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be welcomed by any of the above organizations Bill supported.
