HUDSON - William James Lowery, Jr., passed away August 5, 2024, at his home in Hudson, Ohio. Born July 1, 1930, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William James and Lottie Bevan Lowery, and was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lowery Foreman, and brother-in-law, J. William Foreman.

Bill was a graduate of Slippery Rock University and attained his master’s degree at Westminster College following his service in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong educator and spent most of his career as principal with the Nordonia Hills City School District, followed by his role as Director of Curriculum and Instruction also with Nordonia Hills. Bill was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Cuyahoga Falls since 1963.

Bill married Gretchen Mackey Lowery on August 4, 1956, and is survived by his wife. He is also survived by two children, David (Nanette) and Nancy Powers (Jim); five granddaughters, Meagan Broadwater (Dean), Carolyn Timmons (Andrew), Elizabeth Pestana (Ed), Susan Powers, and Elizabeth Powers, as well as six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1 PM, until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio.
