Obituary of Douglas Hawkins

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Douglas S. Hawkins, 59, died May 4, 2018.

Born in Alliance, he was married 35 years to the love of his life, Susan. Doug was a loved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, friend, and coach. He spent most of his last 20 plus years on the softball field coaching and with family. He was a family man through and through. His love for his kids and his wife and anyone he came in contact with was larger than life. He has impacted more people in his short lifetime than most people ever will. He loved camping in Canada, bike riding, vacationing in Hilton Head, mowing the softball fields and above all, coaching softball for his daughters, for Stow-Munroe Falls High School, and for his Tigerlillies.

He is survived by his wife Susan; children Hailey Amos (Jason Lara), Carly (Tanner) Cullunber, Cyla (Jacob) Geopfert, Tyler Hawkins (Meghan Christy); grandchildren Addison, Jackson, Emerson, Garrett, Lila, Bryson, Hudson, Piper and Kinley; parents Jerry and Nancy Hawkins; brother Kyle (Linda) Hawkins and parents-in-law, Bruce and Betty Campbell.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday. Mass of the Christian Burial Friday 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cuyahoga Falls Wing Warehouse Friday at 6 PM. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to The Doug Hawkins Scholarship Memorial Fund. A scholarship fund is in the process of being set up for future softball college scholarships at Huntington Bank. Meanwhile, checks can be sent to 446 Park Ridge Drive, Munroe Falls, OH 44262.
