Obituary of Mary Alexander

Mary Annis Alexander was transported into the presence of Jesus on July 7, 2018.

Born May 12, 1922, she was raised on Carter Avenue in southeast Akron. She attended Voris Elementary School and graduated from Garfield High in 1940.

She leaves behind her two daughters: Linda Alexander of Stow and Susan Tatham of Orlando, FL; three granddaughters: Jennifer (Matt) Marks, Jana (Byron) Salisbury, Corrie Tatham; and three great-grandchildren: Sage Salisbury, Joshua and Alexander Marks.

Mary Ann confessed Jesus as her Lord in September of 1960. She attended The Chapel on Fir Hill and Stow Alliance Fellowship. She proudly distributed Gospel tracts, gave her salvation testimony at Haven of Rest luncheons, and took guests to their luncheons. Ever having an eye for beauty, she fixed and took sale items to the Haven of Rest gift shop, was involved in Stow Alliance Fellowship for years along with her husband Lorin, led several people to know the Lord, and supported individual indigenous missionaries for years through Christian Aid Missions and the Haven of Rest in Akron.

A graveside commital service was held at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Mary Ann supported the Haven of Rest (Rescue Mission) Ministries, 175 E. Market Street, P.O. Box 547, Akron 44309-0547, Christian Aid Ministries, P.O. Box 9037, Charlottesville, VA 22906 and the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
