Doris (Dody) Marsteller, age 87 passed away on July 6, 2020 surrounded by family.
Dody was born December 20, 1932 in Buffalo, NY to Mark and Eleanor Patterson. She graduated from Euclid H.S. in 1950 and went on to attend the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Dody married the love of her life, James H. (Jim) Marsteller on May 30, 1951. Jim and Dody had four children. Patricia Reese, Linda Marsteller, James S. Marsteller, and Kelly Turk. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jim in 1984. Her son-in-law, John Reese, in 2000. Her daughter, Patricia (Pat) Reese, in 2005. Her dear lifelong friend, Victor Santon, in 2014 and her granddaughter Melissa Sovil in 2015.
Dody was highly involved in the day to day lives of her family and enjoyed spending time with them all. She was an avid and active bridge player, teaching bridge for Adult Education classes and she played in the Hudson Marathon and Swiss Teams. She was a member of D.A.R., Eastern Star, Hudson Newcomers, Hudson League for Service, Board for Community Service, and the Nursery School Board.
She will be remembered and dearly missed for her kindness, her patience, her generosity, and her wonderful listening skills. Everyone who loved her looked to her for guidance, support, and advice.
Dody is survived by her children - Linda Marsteller, James S. (Amy) Marsteller and Kelly (Wes) Turk.
Her granddaughters - Christina (Don) Wengerd, Cynthia (Tim) McCausland, Kate Ostlund, Taylor and Kacey Turk and Megan (Molly Guthrie) Marsteller. Her great grandchildren - Donald Wengerd, Kira Wengerd, Matilda Wengerd, Nolan Wengerd, Robert (RJ) Ostlund, Max Ostlund, James Sovil, Riley Sovil and Gage and Jaxson McCausland.
A “celebration of life” will be held and announced in the future when the pandemic relieves travel restrictions.
